  This week is the end of our first year with Aspirations Dance and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. We only intended to attend a few classes initially as it was on our bucket list of things to do, but the friendly atmosphere and relaxed teaching manner of Richard the instructor and his assistants, encouraged us to stay.
  
  The beginner’s courses are run in 12 week blocks and whilst we really enjoyed the first 12 weeks of Latin American (Rumba, Salsa, Mambo Cha Cha & bachata) and Ballroom (Waltz, Social Foxtrot & Quickstep), it was not until we were introduced to the 1950’s Rock ‘n Roll Jive and Lindy Hop in the second semester that we really found our passion for dancing.
  
  We followed Richard’s advice and attended the beginner’s classes for three consecutive semesters. In the first twelve weeks we picked up the basics and became aware of and tried other moves. In the second semester it made more sense and the other moves that we had struggled with became more do-able. We also started to attend the improver classes which are held later on the same night. At the beginning of the third semester we realised how far we had come and how much we had learnt (& realised how much there is to learn, as there are literally thousands of moves). This was also when everything seemed to fall into place.
  
  Richard’s ethos is for us to enjoy the dance and not get stressed if we make a mistake. The lessons are not regimented, strict or certificated, they’re fun, friendly and much more enjoyable than the gym :)
  
  Richard holds Dance classes in three locations close to Wrexham (Rossett, Christleton and Buckley), five nights a week. So if you miss a night you can attend on another night or even as we now do, attend on multiple nights. He holds non tuition dance events for you to practice at and these are normally at the Dance Hall in Buckley and we have also attended an awesome vintage dance he organised in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
  
  We highly recommend Aspirations Dance and would like to thank Richard (the owner), Mel, Rachel and Hailey (Richard’s three glamorous and very patient assistants) for empowering us to continue with our new interest and for one year of fun with many, many more to follow.
